Jun 11, 2015 10:33 AM in response to minetapeby Jan Hedlund,★HelpfulWithout being familiar with exactly the adapter in question, drivers for USB Wi-Fi devices today typically require at least Mac OS X 10.3 or 10.4.
What you could do is to use a wireless Ethernet bridge (connected to the Ethernet port of the iMac) instead. There are several to choose from, including the examples Netgear WNCE2001 and Linksys WET610N. A modern wireless Ethernet bridge supports the latest security protocols. The advantage is that special driver software is not required, meaning that almost any operating system will be OK. Normally, the bridge can be configured through a standard web browser (if necessary, even at another computer).
