Q: IDVD and PHOTOS and Iphoto question

Hello everybody. I am attempting to use photos for an idvd creation, but understand there are some challenges with it. I have Yosemite, and iPhoto is not available for use like it used to be. It doesn't recognize the photos in media, and I can't seem to lift in a folder or individual photos either. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Export the the photos to a folder on the Desktop. Place the folder in a location where it will not be disturbed until the iDVD project is completed.   Drag the photos from that folder into iDVD to use wherever you want, i.e. the menu, slideshow, etc.

    Old Toad!

Thanks I saw you making that suggestion to someone else. However, it still won't see the folder or allow me to drag it...

You drag the image files while in the Finder into the open iDVD window, either into the menu window or into a slideshow window.

Or open iDVD's Media window and click on the Photos button.  Drag the folder of image files from the Desktop into the Photos window like shown in this screenshot:

Any image file you add to that folder will be accessible to iDVD.  The same goes for video files.  That same folder will be accessible in the Videos pane of iDVD.
