Amazon Prime does not support my browser of 10.6.8. How do I get 10.8 or later?

How do I upgrade my browser from 10.6.8 to 10.8 or later to use Amazon Prime photo storage?

What browser? If Safari, you must upgrade your Mac OS to at least OS10.8 to get a browser verison Amazon supports.

We don't know you iMac's sub-model and that is important, as early Intel-based iMacs cannot be upgraded higher than OS 10.6.8 or 10.7.5 due to hardware limitations. To find your model designation, please go to this Apple Support page:

and enter your serial number. Tell us what it shows do your model variant (usually has a year associated) but do NOT post your serial number here. For my iMac that page returns this (serial number redacted):

The important info for your current needs is in parentheses following the word "iMac".

Some iMacs are too old for that support page to work. If you get no information from the Apple page, you can do the same thing with this third-party website:

Frankly, your easiest option is to forego using your outdated version of Safari and switch to Mozilla FireFox for a browser. It works on any Mac runing OS10.6.8, is reguarlly updated and, as such, is secure.
