Q: How do i get a preferred outgoing mail server for AOL act

My accolade mail is fine. My aol mail will not send. This error message appears:

This message could not be sent. It will remain in your Outbox until it can be sent.

This message could not be sent because your account does not have a preferred outgoing mail server. Select an outgoing mail server from the list below.

HOWEVER there is NO drop down list in box to select outgoing mail server. HELP! PLEASE. I have the new iMac OS X Yosemite . The mail previously was great and now this glitch. Thanks!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Open Mail and open Preferences from the Mail menu.

    Select Accounts.

    Select the AOL account.

Under the Account Information tab, look at the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): setting.

If one is not selected, try selecting the AOL SMTP server from the popup menu.

If there isn't one, select Edit SMTP Server List.

Add a new server entry by clicking on the + button.

Use the Account Information and Advanced tab to enter the recommended settings provided by AOL.

Select that new SMTP server when you are done creating it.
