Q: Download pictures into iPhone from iCloud Photo Library

Hello everyone

i'm trying to figure out how the iCloud Photo Library download system works. On my iPhone, I've selected "download and keep originals" in my photos settings, but when I scroll trough the photos or try to play a video, the medias are not "ready" but they need to be downloaded.

What I'm trying to understand is: are the photos downloaded at the moment i choose "download and keep originals"? or when I open them for the first time?

The iCloud photo library doesn't technically download photos.
They live in the iCloud.
If you want them to auto download, use the Photo Stream.
