2008-2009 missing photos iPhone

I just went into my iPhoto and noticed I no longer have any photos from before February 2009. Where did they go?

I recently synced my iPhone after not doing it for a REALLY long time (maybe a year). I hadn't synced because when I connected my iPhone it WOUDLN'T sync. Recently it has been syncing well when I plug it into the computer.

But now my photos from 2008-2009 are gone 😟

Help!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

What version of iPhoto and system are you running? How did you sync your phone to the library? Or do you mean you imported the photos from your iPhone to the library.

If you're running 10.10.3 and Photos and have the iCloud Photo Library enabled you won't be able to connect your iPhone to the Mac and upload to the library. That's done they the iCloud Photo Library.

So you see you need to give us more detailed information on your setup and workflow.

What system are you running?

iTunes can only upload photos from your library or hard drive to the iPhone. It has no capability of downloading photos.

As for your earlier photos give this a try:

1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.

2 - apply Option #4, Rebuild Database.
