I am trying to send a slideshow saved as a video from my iPod (5th gen, iOS 8.3) to a 3m streaming projector. I am using an HDMI to lightening adapter. I cannot get anything to display. I know I used this exact set up a couple of iOS's ago and there was a video output setting. Any help?
There is not setting on the iPod.
Does the projector work OK with other HDMI inputs?
What app you using on the iPod?
Do other apps on the iPod display to the projector?
Does the iPod display to other HDMI input devices?
The projector works.
I'm using Video (from iTunes)
Nothing displays from the iPod. Just a black screen.
I tried it on my tv also and it does the same thing. Goes black.
My iPad works on both.
If the working iPad is using same video and cable as the non-working iPod then:
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
