Q: Constant restart

Over the last two days my iPhone 5s 16GB has constantly been restarting randomly. It happens at least 40 times a day, not related to any particular action. First problem I noticed was the camera app would just show a black screen then the restarts started happening. It is the same restart as if you pressed home button and power at the same time, displaying a white screen with Apple logo.  During the restart, it maintains Bluetooth connection to my car audio and any active call will remain in progress and be restored once it has restarted. When it restarts during writing a text message or email, it loses whatever I have typed. Also if using safari at the time after restarting it will just show a blank new tab instead of the page I was on.

I am running iOS 8.3, I have over 1GB of space available and I have already tried recovery mode restore as new iPhone and it still happens. It is making my phone completely un usable. My phone is a warranty replacement from Apple Store that is actually about 8 months old but as I purchased my original phone over a year ago they say it will not be covered under warranty (although I think it is a fair assumption that a nearly £600 piece of kit should work for longer than 1 year). I have not dropped the phone, nor has it been in contact with any water.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as Apple don't seem very interested in resolving it without paying over £200 for the privilege.

Thanks

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3

See this support document. If your iOS device restarts, displays the Apple logo, or powers off while you're using it - Apple Support

When you say that Apple wants you to pay, that is about the price of an out of warranty replacement. Is there something you are not telling here? The only thing wrong is the device restarts? Your only recourse is with Apple, not here on the forum, as we are users like you. That support document is all we can provide here. A replacement device from Apple has the balance of the original warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer.

    Thanks Chris,

That's exactly what I'm saying, the balance of my original warranty has expired so I would need to pay the out of warranty fee (sorry I couldn't remember exactly how much it was). I have contacted Apple Support as suggested in the link you kindly provided but they just say I need to send it for repair. I was hoping someone else may have experienced and fixed this or a similar issue, so that I don't have to pay hundreds of pounds when I do honesty think that such an expensive device should easily last longer than a year. Thanks for your help.

You would have to take that up with Apple. Sorry.
