Q: Managing calls using Watch, iPhone, and Bluebud X headset
I'm hoping other Watch/Bluebuds owners will collaborate with me about using the two together with iPhone.
Making outgoing calls is easier if Watch is just left out of the equation. I haven't found a way to switch from Watch to Bluebuds without taking out the iPhone.
It IS possible to take an incoming call without taking out the iPhone. See below.
GOAL FOR INCOMING CALLS
For incoming calls, I want to be alerted to the call by my Watch, but I want to actually pick up the call on my Bluebud headset, which I wear throughout the day. The method below keeps the iPhone where it belongs, in your pocket. But some preparation is required, as described in the first three steps.
Here's how to do accept incoming calls on Watch and converse on your Bluebuds:
1) Pair the Bluebud headset with your iPhone and make sure that in the phone app, Bluebud is the active speaker/mic.
2) In the My Watch App / Phone, select Custom and activate all alert types.
3) Be sure power is on to both your Bluebuds and your phone.
With these settings, an incoming call will trigger Watch to prompt you to answer the call using its internal mic/speaker. You can turn the bezel to view another option, to transfer the call to the iPhone. Do neither of these!
4) Your iPhone will be ringing at the same time as your Watch. Press the middle button on your Bluebuds once, briefly. This will answer the call via the iPhone.
Engage in the conversation using the Bluebuds.
5) When the conversation is over, terminate it by pressing the Bluebuds' middle button again.
(Note that this last action does not always work. If necessary, open your iPhone's phone app and terminate the call from there.)
