Q: iBooks - "This book is no longer shared with you."

We have Family Sharing enabled, and my wife can see and download the books I've purchased, but when she tries to open them she gets an error message:

"This book is no longer shared with you.

To read it, you must buy it from the iBooks Store.

Cancel

Delete Book

VIew in iBooks Store"

I've checked all all the Family Sharing settings and can't find anything wrong.

I don't know if it's related, but some of the books give a different message when she tries to open them:

"Cannot open 'book name'

IT is formatted incorrectly, or it is not a format that iBooks can open."

These are all purchased from the iBooks Store.

She doesn't have a problem with books purchased in her own account.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Scott

Some additional info... I just tested on her iMac... using her AppleID she can download books I've purchased on my account and they open fine in iBooks on the iMac.

So, perhaps this is actually an iPad issue (her iPad, in particular -- I tested mine and I can download and open iBooks on both our accounts just fine).

    --more testing--

After downloading a couple of books purchased on my account to my wife's iMac under her account (successfully),  I set them to sync with my wife's iPad via iTunes... worked fine... the books can now be read on her iPad.

However, if I download directly in iBooks on her iPad from my account via the Family Sharing, I still get the error messages for those books.

I'm out of ideas for things to test to try to figure out what's going on.
