Can I share an existing album in IOS 8.x

Is there a way to share an existing album in IOS 8. It seems that you can only create new "shared" albums, but not add a shared attribute to an existing album.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.3

Apple may or may not read these but this is not a way to report things to them or to reach them in any way- they do not answer here except through a special (poorly trained) group of "community Specialists - you can continue to waste time and confusing real people who really want help by posting in very old, dormant threads with no new information but it helps no one and wastes everyone's time and confuses new users

I get that this works, but this is a terrible process. Why can't I simply share an existing album? What practical reason is there to create a duplicate album? Apple, you can do better than this...

They are not duplicated albums - Shared albums and standard albums in your library are completely different things.

The standard albums are part of your Photos Library. They are referencing the photos in your library, and are true albums. You can sort them, you can searching them, and only you can add to them. The photos in the albums can be added and used in projects, since they are part of your library.

The Shared albums are called albums, but are not albums. They are streams of photos stored in iCloud and cannot be sorted. Because they are stored in iCloud the size is limited and the photos do not have the original quality. When you edit a photo, the shared version in the shared album will not update. You cannot rearrange the photos in the album because it is a stream.

I wish they called them Photo Streams or something, then.

When Shared albums first came out, the had been called Shared Photo Streams.

But when iOS 8 came out, the shared photo streams were renamed to "Shared albums", which is confusing for many users, because they do not have the properties an album has. But people expect to be able to treat them like any album.
