Q: I need to reinstall MacOSX 10.4 - 10.9

Hi, I need to reinstall MacOSX. Anything between 10.4 to 10.9. I currently have 10.9 which I downloaded from the Appstore. I do not have the install file anymore and the system is misbehaving. I cannot find the way how to redownload the older versions of the OS.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers.

I believe you can purchase ML disc from the Apple store and see if it will run on your Mac..

What is the OS doing? Are you interested in trying to solve the problem(s)?

The last Mac OS X to be found on physical media was Mac OS X 10.7, and that was on a Flash drive.   10.6.3 was the last retail DVD.  People have made backups of newer operating systems on other physical media using cloning software.    Knowing the age of your Mac is key to knowing what you can restore your Mac to and what you can't. Apple does not let an older Mac OS X version to be installed on your Mac than shipped with it.

If your Mac is new enough, you can erase and install using a command-R boot the operating system, and it will download the latest Mac OS X for use with your system.  But since you are interested in 10.9, perhaps that's because you don't know if certain software will work with 10.10.  If that's the case, you may need to call AppleCare and ask an older operating system be made available.

    Yes,

Currently the computer crashes at irregular times. I would like to reinstall the system to the original OS to 1 eliminate any problems with installed software, 2 eliminate conflicts that may arise between the hardware and any OS/driver issues from newer versions.

    Also,

The macBook Pro is a 2010 release and I found that it originally came with 10.6.3 or 10.6.4.

Replacing the logic board is the only way the GPU can be changed.

Use of this software enables one to disengage a GPU:

    https://gfx.io/

Be advised that the model identifier 6.2 MBP's have a history of GPU problems, hence my request for a kernel panic report.

    Ciao.
