I have Safari 5.1.10 browser. How do I update my browser??

I have a mac book form 2011. I keep getting messages to update my browser which is Safari 5.1.10. I have the snow leopard operating system 10.6.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You need to upgrade the computer's OS or switch browsers.


To upgrade, open the Mac App Store and download Yosemite, or if desired, order a download code for Lion 10.7 or Mountain Lion 10.8 from the online Apple Store.

Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.
