Jun 12, 2015 11:56 AM in response to drdivaby léonie,You may want to tell this Apple directly - the developer team will see any message you send to Apple using the feedback form:
Here in our user-to-user forum they may miss your message.
Some improvements to Photos are under way and will come with the next MacOS X version, El Capitan. See the preview: Apple — OS X El Capitan

Jun 12, 2015 11:57 AM in response to drdivaby RIFerrarr,If the iPhoto app was greyed out, maybe that was why Photos could not complete the copy procedure, you could try it again and see if you like Photos.

Jun 12, 2015 1:20 PM in response to drdivaby LarryHN,Apple is not here and most likely will not read your post - you need to tell them directly - see the contact us links at the bottom of this page or https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html
And as to automatic updated - that does not ever happen unless you personally request it - I personally would not as I like to know what is being loaded onto my system - if you enable it then you get what you get and it was totally your choice

iPhoto opened my iPhoto Library just fine, nothing was wrong with it.
Just because iPhoto could open your iPhoto Library does not necessarily mean there is nothing wrong with it. Its permissions or database may need repair before Photos can migrate it.
See iPhoto 6 and later: Rebuilding the iPhoto library - Apple Support for more info about how to do this.
