Q: iPad air 2 FaceTime not ringing

the inlaw has just done a software update on her air2 and now it doesn't ring on FaceTime or message!!!!!....... please help as it's driving me MAD!!! thanks

    After an iOS update, some device settings are returned to their default values. The device is may be muted. You can un-mute it by accessing the setting under Control Center since the iPad Air 2 does not have a physical mute switch. See the following for more info and how to un-mute the device:

    If the device is not muted, check the Ringer and Alerts volume under Settings/Sounds/Ringer and Alerts. Maker sure the slider is set to a proper volume level. If the Change With Buttons setting toggle is OFF, this is the only place you can change Ringer and Alerts volume. If set to ON, the volume up/down buttons can be used to change the Ringer and Alerts volume.

     

    This is to keep the Ringer and Alerts volume separated from the normal sounds (games/music/etc) volume (turning the sound down in music or a game would prevent the Ringer and Alerts volume from being turned down as well).
