Mac Mini & Snow Leopard Questions

Hey there. I'm relatively new to the Mac game so I decided to start small with it. I've purchased a Mac Mini A1176 with a Core 2 Duo @ 1.83, 1GB RAM and an 80GB HDD running OSX 10.6.3.

My first question is this: can I take the current install of 10.6.3 and update to 10.6.8? Additionally, if I process a fresh installation of 10.6.3, can I update to the latest release of Snow Leopard? I'm not sure how OSX updates work honestly as I am primarily a Windows user.

Additionally, how well does Snow Leopard play with solid state drives? I've read it runs on them without any real problems, but is there anything specific I'll need to do for proper function of the OS? If I can update to 10.6.8, I can get an app for TRIM support so that won't be an issue. However, it will be if upgrading will be a pain.

And, lastly, is there a service manual of some sort that shows how to remove parts like hard drives, RAM, optical drives, etc? I plan on changing out the RAM as well. Speaking of which, the Mac Mini takes standard laptop RAM, correct?

Anyhow, thanks in advance. If there's more you need, I'll be glad to explain further.

- To update click on the Apple icon in the upper right and select Check for update and install the update. That will fully update Snow Leopard.

You Mac/SL support SSDs fine. However, you will not make use of the full speed of SSDs since your Mac only has SATA I or II speeds but you will see an improvement

- You can download the TRIM enabler here:

http://www.cindori.org/software/trimenabler/

- This site has videos for how to replace internal components

- Macs are picky about memory so only get memory from a place that specifically says it will work with your model Mini. The site in the above link also sell memoryYou Mini support 4 GB (2X2 GB)

- You Mac can go as high as Lion. To get Lion go here and download the code to download the installer if Lion is not offered in the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store app is added by the final update to SL

- Note that the version of Safari (browser) in SL is not supported by some site. You can either update the OS to Lion or download a browser like Chrome or FireFox
