How can I find out what version of itunes is on my phone

Want to sync my music library on my laptop to my iphone 6. As soon as I connect it tells me it doesnt recognize my ipone and to download and install the latest version of itunes. when i go to download it is very speedy so i can only assume I have the latest version but how do I tell.

It wants you to install the latest version of iTunes on your computer. iTunes on an iOS device is bundled with the iOS, so you have no control over what version you are running.

You need to update iTunes on your computer.
