All of a sudden I am getting HDCP errors messages on everything via ATV2

Well - THIS is frustrating.

All of a sudden we have started to get HDCP error messages when watching ANYTHING on the ATV2 - Netflix, iTunes Store Trailers, even web-based shows accessed on the iPad that I want to fling using AirPLay to my ATV2. All of the aforementioned activties have been working fine and have been repeatedly accessed for several months (including just 24 hours ago). But now - nothing. Have reset the ATV2, unplugged everything and restarted everything. I have a TH-50PHD8UK Panasonic 50” Plasma HD display monitor that only has one HDMI input so I am using a Rocketfish HDMI switcher.......whic has performed flawlessly with NO issues whatsoever for well over a year, if not longer. And now this has cropped up seemingly overnight.

AND....I also bypassed the HDMI switcher and went directly via HDMI from the output of ATV to the monitor.....and still tget the he almost mocking me HDCP notification.

Is there something basic and fundamental that is eluding me tthat woudl help remedy this.....?

I'd try a different HDMI cable first - it may have developed a fault (either the one from the switch to AppleTv or the one from switch to TV).

Thanks for the suggestion. Seeing as how I got the same results when I bypassed the switch it likely is the cable into the monitor. i shall start there and let you know

I'd certainly look at cables first - some cables just don't work properly (yours have in the past), some develop faults.

It may be something completely different but cables are fairly simple to test.

My next step assuming you've unpowered and restarted AppleTv would be maybe to try with another TV to ensure AppleTV/HDMI cable combination are ok.

I did indeed replace the HDMI cable from the switch to the monitor and all is good....for now. The most amazing part of the endeavor was not only locating a spare in the box of cables I have amassed but actually successfully pulling the old one and snaking the new one in through the morass of cables underneath all of the gear.
