Copy/Paste style doesn't work for bullets and numbered lists

I'm a longtime pages user and I have encountered a problem that appeared with the move to pages 5 (I think). The copy and paste style seems to work just fine for bold, italics, font, etc. but when it comes to copying the style of a numbered and pasting to another block of text, it won't work. I know this has worked in the past, but I can't get it to work.

Is this a feature that went away with the big update or is it just me?

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), Pages 5.5.3

I am having this same problem. Similarly, it does not work when a style is defined with Bullets and Numbering. In Word this is very easy, you can define a style and regardless of any other attributes like bullets, it formats your text perfectly. In Pages, it picks and chooses which attributes to include in the style. If I create a style with bullets, if I go to use it again, I have to do the bullet part each time. Am I doing something wrong. I am using Yosemite and the latest version of Pages.

That is a problem with Pages 5.

It works correctly in Pages '09, like many other things.

In Pages '09 the List Style is included in a Paragraph Style's attributes, in Pages 5 it is not.

If you have it, use Pages '09.

Pages 09 has over 100+ features that are missing in Pages 5.5.3 and is vastly more capable and productive and bug free. It also runs on everything from Yosemite back to Snow Leopard so there are way more Apple users who can use it, let alone the Microsoft users you can more or less swap files with as .doc/x, .rtf etc.

The iWorks '09 DVD is available from Amazon for less than US$20, just make sure to upgrade to v4.3 after installation.

iWorks '09 is a remarkable office suite, it is a pity Apple has taken the course it has with the free versions.

Thank you for your answer.

I switched to a Mac last Spring from a Windows-based machine and Word/Excel and ever since, have been eternally frustrated with Pages and Numbers. Thinking it was only my stumbling up the learning curve and that eventually these programs would become second nature, and that in time I would accomplish consistent and speedy work with them. This is not the case - the failure to Copy/Paste/Style to work with numbering and bullets is an excellent example, but only one of many many glitches, bugs or just plain negligence on the part of the wizards at Apple. I've just ordered MS Office for Mac. Hopefully my days will once again be Merry and Bright, rather than fraught with Formatting Frustration. Yes and that does mean that after a few hours on Pages, I really do need my frustration and creative use of language formatted.
