How long does it take for a replacement unit?

I have an Iphone 5c, running on iOS 8, i live in Indonesia

Recently my iphone has been getting errors such as no signal bar, shuts off suddenly, pink screen errors so i decided to take it to the authorized service centre for service. Turns out my phone needs replacement so they told me it will take approximately 1 months to replace another unit. exactly 1 month after i gave them the iphone for replacement, i gave them a call. No one answered. 2 weeks after that i called them again. It took me 20 calls for them to pick up the phone and told me that the replacement isnt ready yet, and promised me in 3 months if the replacement iPhone 5c is not available they will give me a replacement 5s. They promised me that it will take 1 month when i first put my phone in the service centre. Now they told me its gonna take another 3 months. Does apple take this long to replace a single unit? Or does this happen only in Indonesia?

iPhone 5c, iOS 8.0.2

It is actually same here in the Philippines. All replacement iPhones come from Singapore that's why it will take 30-45 days as I was told by a Authorized Service Center. Apparently Apple doesn't want to set up a warehouse for replacement phones in 3rd world countries or send in bulk replacement iPhones to Authorized Service Centers. Apple doesn't want to spend money so Apple needs to sacrifice customer satisfaction. If you go to an iStore to buy a new iPhones there are a lot of stocks but for replacement they don't. Meaning, sales is more important the customer service. I hope they say that at the launching of the next iPhone. 🙂

Ordinarily, you can get a replacement at an Apple Store the same day you take yours in for evaluation. If you use the Apple Express service where they ship you a replacement and you ship your malfunctioning unit back, the turn around time in the USA is usually no more than 3-5 days.

Are you certain this is an Apple Authorized service provider? If you search for service providers at https://locate.apple.com/country are they listed at Apple's web site? If they are not listed there, then they are NOT Apple Authorized regardless of what they told you.

Well apparently in Indonesia all apple sales go through a third party distributor, once i went to the authorized service centre they told me to bring my phone to the company's service centre, they said, all replacements are done by apple singapore. But even so, does it take 3 months ship my phone to singapore and back to me?

The service link at the Apple website indicates to me that all iPhone warranty service in Indonesia is done through the carriers? Did you take it to your cellular service provider? If not, then you are not dealing with an Apple Authorized Service Center and you may thus have voided your Apple warranty.

no no, its much more complicated than that here. So all apple guarantee claims are done through third party distributors, in my case, iphone claims are done through Sinar Eka Selaras Ltd. Since the 5c was bought on ibox, i couldnt claim guarantees from the cellular service provider. I went to one of the three authorized service centre in Jakarta (You can look it up in http://www.ibox.co.id/retail), located in Menteng. They claim that they only accept ipad products and they told me to put my iphone on the authorized service centre in Mal Kelapa Gading. I went there, went to the ibox, told them i want to claim my guarantee, but i also did get the same answer, they told me to put it in the company's service centre. Luckily it was in the same building. I took it there, and they told me it will be done it 1 month. But as i mentioned above, it took more than a month.
