Apple Watch Email Sync Problems

I keep having trouble with the email inbox on the watch matching other devices. Emails deleted on other iOS devices still appear in the inbox in the Mail app. Also, sometimes I get a notification like this, that says "To fetch more messages, please unlock your iPhone." There is no consistent pattern on when this will appear. I've also experimented with "fetch" vs "push" on my email settings, still no consistent behavior. Sometimes even when i DO unlock the iPhone, the message still stays. Anybody else having this problem?

Same issue here. The UX for mail leaves a lot to be desired. When it works right, it's great for triage. When it doesn't, it's a real head scratcher. Why should I unlock my iPhone to see more mail when it should be piped in on a schedule I specify? Personally, I've turned off all haptic/sound feedback for Mail on my Watch, but I do let the red notification dot tell me between occasional glances if I should look at my notifications for mail.

I'm eagerly awaiting the final release of watchOS 2 and/or Mailbox to deploy their watchOS app. Haven't tried others like Spark or CloudMagic, but some people seem to like them. They just don't give custom notification control for things like haptic/sound feedback because of watchOS 1 limitations, as I understand it. For the life of me, I can't understand why third party mail clients beat Apple to the punch of handling mail replies from the watch too.

I had those settings already configured on my devices with some minor custom configurations on my watch.

When I opened the stock Mail app on iPhone, I got an alert that google's imap server was having a problem connecting. My iCloud mail address was humming along just fine. My inbox was also showing an old gmail email I had archived from my watch a day or two ago. So, I force closed the Mail app and relaunched it.

Voila, everything's working again. Seems something went wonky with Mail and since I mostly use Mailbox, it took me having to open Mail to notice the issue.
