Q: MBP (late 2011 running Yosemite 10.10.3) display stopped responding

My MBP display has stopped responding. I have an external monitor connected and I can see the desktop and all content there but my native screen is blank. When connecting/disconnecting external monitor native screen will flash with the screen image and then go dark again.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), Mail
