Can't change my Apple ID?

however, tthere is no option to edit next to my Apple ID and primary email address.

do I have any other way of changing this?

If your ID address is an @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com address then you cannot change it.

I type in the new email address I wish to use as my apple id but then when I click continue nothing happens
