Q: I just purchased music on Itunes and it's not uploading to my ipod

From your post it sounds like you ahve downloaded this song to your iTunes library on your computer but it is not automatically syncing to your iPod. To me that indicates one of two things, either you have your iPod set to have its content manually managed per this article:

Manage content manually on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod

Or the song is not selected to sync with the settings you have setup for your device:

iTunes 12 for Mac: Sync iPod, iPhone, or iPad
