Q: Me too.

It's a little comfort that I'm not the only one with Bluetooth problems, but not enough. I find it amazing that no one has come up with a solution, or even a theory. As for me, I have an iMac, and I can't connect it with ANYTHING, including everything that worked before: speakers, keyboard. I do get as far as the PAIRING button—sometimess—but it doesn't pair. What's going on?

OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

It's probably broken. Take it to an Apple store.

Think about that. Are you saying that all of the MANY people here who have the same problem have broken computers? I don't think so.

What is "many"? 10? 100? 1000? 10,000? There are somewhere around 200 million late model Macs in use. Probably 99.99% of them have no problem with Bluetooth. Of the ones that have a problem most likely 99% of those are user error. Even yours may be.

I'll assume that you have really seen 10,000 posts about your specific Bluetooth problem (not ALL Bluetooth problems; there are many different ones). Which is ridiculous, as you probably saw 10, but to humor you I'll use that. So 10,000/200,000,000 is 0.00005, or 0.005%. Which means that 99.995% of Macs do not have any problem with Bluetooth that anyone has bothered to complain about.

A lot of people have a real problem grasping large numbers.

It's tempting to respond at your level, but I respect this website too much to do that. All I'll say is that you don't belong here, and I'll be surprised if Apple allows you to do any more postimg.

I'm not sure you're capable of responding at Lawrence's level. He's one of the most technically astute people posting here. Those points under his name? They were awarded to him by the users he's helped here. I think Apple will be fine if he generously continues to give of his time.

    Best of luck.

Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. Be sure to back up your device before taking or sending it to Apple.

If you're done with the rant.......you haven't bothered to tell us what version of OS X, which mac or what you have done to troubleshoot the issue. You've got a couple hundred points so you've been around long enough to know that in order for someone to suggest a solution we need information. Have you gone through the steps here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204621

Have you  reset the SMC Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support and PRAM How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

That is interesting. I didn't know that I had any points. In any event, I haven't yet had time to use Google to see if I can find an answer to  my question. If and when I do, you may be sure that I will post it without fail, so that all the others who have asked the same question can benefit from my research.

You can try to go to the advanced functions to toggle the settings. There might also be problems with battery and others. What are you currently trying to connect? Wired devices often have interference with wireless.

I'm not sure exactly what happened, but here are a few things I have learned: (1) Part of the problem has been with my Internet service provider. It was out for

an unknown number of hours. (2) My new wireless keyboard sometimes works and sometimes doesn't (it doesn't work at the moment), but sometimes it works when the screen says that no connection has been made. (3) My old, beaten-up wireless keyboard is working now, and maybe it never stopped working. (4) I have now connected my Bluetooth speaker to my computer.

I'm going to look for another Internet service provider. There have been too many outages, and I lose my telephone service when that happens. Ideally, my new package will include one LAND telephone, the Internet and television. I can't ignore the cost, of course.
