I can't renew by HBO Now subscription on my iPhone

I completed my free trial of HBO Now and tried renewing my subscription on my iPhone. Under "Settings" I went to "iTunes & App Store" and from there clicked on my Apple ID, then hit "View Apple ID". I hit "Manage" under "Subscriptions" and from there hit "HBO Now."


From there I hit the 1 month, $14.99 renewal option, confirmed the subscription prompt, then hit "done". The problem is, nothing happens. Every time I go back to my account settings and hit "manage" under my subscriptions, it shows my HBO Now subscription as still expired.


Is anyone else having this problem? Any idea how to fix it? My iTunes payment info is up to date-- I can't for the life of me figure this out!

Just resolved this same issue as described with Apple Support. Required this workaround:


1. Go to HBONow app on iOS device.

2. Open app and try to watch any program.

3. When prompted to renew subscription, do as prompted; you will be asked, first, for your HBONow username & password.

4. After entering your HBONow credentials, you will then be asked to renew your subscription via iTunes and enter your iTunes credentials; do that.

5. You should receive a success message.


Something about the dual access through HBONow, then iTunes, seems to be the trick. If you don't have an iOS device, you might try simply logging out then in to HBONow.com on the web, then iTunes.
