I have an iPod Touch...does it not come with Alex?

You have to download that voice. From the manual

• Download an enhanced quality reading voice: Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver > Speech, tap a language, then tap Enhanced Quality. If you’re using English, you can choose to download Alex (869 MB), the same high-quality U.S. English voice used for VoiceOver on Mac computers.

Unfortunately, that's the problem. I go through all the steps and the Alex option is not there. So I was wondering if it was not supported on my iPod. Thanks though!

If not in the USA Alex may not be available. Also, do you have English selects as the language for the iPod? See the end of:
