several people on same itunes account

I'm trying to set up my iTunes account so my kids and my husband can sync their ipads and iphones to my itunes account. How do I do this. I'm working in Yosemite and really don't want to do family sharing because I'm not so into my kids seeing what I have on my iphone. Can anyone help me set up several people on the same itunes account without having all the separate information intermingling?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

An account is something you have at the iTunes Store. A library is a collection of things in iTunes on your computer.

You probably do not want them syncing to your library directly. They will definitely see your playlists and can add and delete items. There's ways to limit this but without going into the half dozen ways of doing things I still think Family Sharing may be best unless you are trying to wean the children off your iTunes Store account and onto their own accounts.

With family Sharing they don't see what is on your iPhone, they only see available items purchased from Apple within the shared group, and as permitted.

Note it says "purchased" as in purchased from Apple. If you intend to share media from CDs and other sources you will probably have to set up alternative sharing such as Home Sharing where each person syncs to their own iTunes library but items can be shared locally.

Then you should be using Family Sharing.

Family Sharing does not show others what is on your device.

Each person should have their own computer login and they will have their own info.

They should have their own iTunes account. An iTunes account is used fro purchase.

You all can use the same iTunes library. An iTunes library is all the media your computer.
