I have been noticing that my macbook is taking much longer to boot up and is often time very sluggish. I was going to try and run the apple diagnostics for my Macbook Pro Mid-2010 but I am unable to launch it. I have tried from a power down holding the D key and also tried it from a restart prompt.
What am I doing wrong?
MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
Try OPTION + D keys. If that fails, use the original installation disk the came with your MBP, which has the AHT instructions written on it.

Did you bring your computer to Apple regarding this error. If so, what was their response? I am getting the same error.
I did and they ran two different diagnostics and it passed all of the tests. They said the diagnostics on our hard drives doesn't always work well. My original performance issues was repeatable so they recommended i upgrade my memory. On our models, it is easy to do. I did it myself.
Did upgrading your memory work? I too am getting this same error and sluggish performance issues on my 2010 iMac.
yes it did. it was the upgrade to Yosemite that was too much for the existing memory.
I'm also having the same issue. What kind of memory did you end up going for. I am also looking to upgrade my memory but it ended up crashing while I was looking at a few. I'm looking for 2 T or 4T memory drive any help would be great.
