Q: Converting an NTSC file to PAL to burn onto DVD

I don’t think iDVD can do this but I also own FCP 10.2, Wondershare Video Converter 5, Compressor 4 and Toast 11 that is also capable to converting video files.

I just don’t know if any of these programs will allow me to convert my NTSC into Pal and burn the new Pal video onto a DVD.

Can anybody help me?  Is this even necessary? I heard that just about all European DVD players also play NTSC.  Do I need to invest in another program?

My client is even more confused than I am and just wants to make sure his family and friends in Europe can watch his material on DVD.  Thank you in advance!

Compressor can certainly do it, FCP X can as well. But I don't think you need to.

Wait to see what our Euro friends have ro say,.

Thank you Russ.  I think Ill just give the client a standard NTSC DVD and if he still needs it on a PAL DVD ill pursue this further.

While investigating Wondershare Video Converter 5, and Toast 11 as well as FCP 10.2, Compressor 4, i didnt see any options to either export to PAL or convert to PAL.

I would still like to find out what program can do this the easiest.

Does any body know if and how to do this with any of these programs?

Any European folks know what percentages of DVD players DONT play NTSC DVD's?

    Thank you

Again, Compressor is excellent at standards conversions.

    Don't know about the others.
