Q: photos photostream

Had a mac for a long time, but I could never find a straight answer to my question, so I am hoping for a clear answer from you guys (girls) with good knowledge.

Hardware:

Iphone 6

Macbook pro : Yosemite

( all updated with latest firmware and iCloud drive: ON )

I have 45gb of pictures in photos.

Questions:

1. Does photo stream have same quality as if I transfer via cable to macbook ?

2. I notice that when I connect my phone to macbook, it says that no new photos to sync.  Does that mean that it automatically replaced my streamed photos with the original from my phone ?

3. I have so many photo stream folders from Iphotos in Photos.  Can they be deleted as they are streamed, and original are somewhere else ?

The thing is that I wish not to have photos in my Photos library with "Stream Tag".  Only original please.

Thank you for clear answers

You will find answers to most of your questions in the My Photo Stream FAQ support document. For example, for your first question, see the "What resolution are My Photo Stream photos?" section:

On a Mac or PC, your photos are downloaded and stored in full resolution. On iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple TV, your photos are delivered in a device-optimized resolution that speeds downloads and saves storage space. Dimensions will vary, but an optimized version of a photo taken by a standard point-and-shoot camera will have a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution when pushed to your devices. Panoramic photos can be up to 5400 pixels wide.

The most important thing to understand is that My Photo Stream does not provide permanent storage -- after 30 days photos will be removed from everything except the iPhone unless you import them.
