Q: Does iCloud Drive support files from Office e.g. Word etc?? If so how do I set this up?

When I open iDrive in Preferences I cannot see my Mac Air Folders. How do I set it up to backup all my various files??

You can copy all kinds of documents to iCloud Drive. It can be used like any external disk, if you make it visible in the Finder.

Just do not drag the Word documents  to the application specific folders reserved for Mac applications.  Create your own folders for Word documents and other types of documents and then drag your Office documents to your custom folders.  If you want to copy the documents hold down the alt/options  key while you drag.

iCloud Drive is not meant to be a backup drive. Its primary purpose is to keep your documents in one place for easy access, so you can access them from devices.

To make iCloud Drive visible as an external drive, open the Finder Preferences.  Click "Sidebar" and enable iCloud Drive to show among the Favourites in the Sidebar.
