no leading zero on menu bar clock hour

is there a way to format the clock hour in the menu bar with a leading zero?

the Finder shows the leading zero as i have it configured in System Preferences.

moreover, can the date in the menu bar be reformatted from "Tue Jun 16" to "Jun 16 Tue" as i have also configured in System Preferences (and this is also how the dates are formatted in the Finder.)

i would also like to suggest that a date and time format of "AD 2015 June 16 Tuesday PDT 01:24:17" could be labeled "International" in the Language & Region pane of System Preferences.

thanks John for posting about the formatting of the menu bar independent of how dates and times are configured in the System Preferences.

now that it is July, i also notice that there is no leading zero for the day of month, even though i have configured the days of month to be formatted with a leading zero.

and although i see that the minutes and hours quite correctly show the leading zero, the hour of the day is somehow displayed by another format that wasn't configured in System Preferences.

there are times when and there are contexts in which leading zeroes are important for users and readers. let's communicate this to Apple !
