Stereo Out Disabled

Hello,

I use an SSL MadiXtreme as Audio Device with a Alpha Link MX 4-16 as converter with 4 input and 16 outputs. In logic Pro 9 I route the stems to different outputs in order to go to the 16 outputs of the converter into my analog summing mixer. For practical purposes my speakers (monitor out) are set to outputs 15-16.

Lately, I don't know why, Logic Pro doesn't recognize output 1 and 2 (both in mono or stereo) and routes the tracks directly to the monitor outputs 15-16 (so avoiding the analog summing).

Why should it do so? How can I change this?

I also use Pro Tools and it doesn't show a similar problem, so I think it's something wrong within the software.

I attach a screenshot of the I/O labels window to show you that outputs 1 and 2 are disabled, and another picture where you can see that outputs 1 and 2 in mono are considered as "part of stereo output".

I hope I was clear enough. Thank you very much.

I only have Logic Pro X available right now, but I think it is the same in L9.

In the Preferences ➤ Audio ➤ I/O Assignments, you can select whichn output channels on your Audio Device to use for the Stereo Output bus on the Logic Mixer. Maybe it is set to 15/16.

The Mirror checkbox routes the output bus, in addition to the selected output chanel, also to output channel 1/2. If the channel 1/2 is selected (like in most cases), then the checkbox is grayed out.

Hope that helps
