Automatically detect and maintain account settings
Close the preferences window and save the change.

Jun 17, 2015 6:27 AM in response to n812smby John Lockwood,The list of SMTP servers also lists the username used to authenticate that server, this makes it 'look' like it is adding the username to the server address. It should look something like
mail.domain.com:username
Note the colon separating them.
These days it is almost universal that mail servers require users to use authentication in order to be able to send emails as a means of reducing spam.
You can edit the details by selecting 'Edit SMTP Server List...' from that drop down menu, then use the 'Advanced' tab.
