How to remove malware that remains even after rebooting the whole iphone?

Hi guys. So here is the deal: Whenever I open Safari or Chrome and type in a website adress, this annoying sex website pops up "bongacams.com". I dont know how to get rid of it, the people at ISTYLE didnt know how to get rid of it, and its driving me mad. Please help :/ I already tried everything, rebooting the whole Iphone, deleting everything, whatever I saw on forums to do I did.

All these links seem to relate to my situation, but they only offer a solving for PC and Macs. My problem is on my Iphone 4S. Please help guys, I cant use the internet like this.

This is interesting. Yes I am, actually. I had the problem a while ago, I went to ISTYLE they kept my Iphone there for about 2 hours, and rebooted it somehow, and everything was okay. I went on holiday to a different country and nothing occured, and now, the moment I reconnect to my home wi-fi it had started all over again. I cant see any problems on my PC or any other device conected to our home wi-fi though ...

Well, I did the DFU mode thing, and it looks like its okay, thanks mate 🙂 But if it comes back, Ill get really mad. Do you think its a virus that somehow affects my phone? Why isnt there an option to install AVG, Eset, Avast or any other kind of antivirus that would keep me protected against this kind of ****? :/

Because it isn't a virus or true malware, it is a browser hijack. You picked it up from a website you visited or your router has been infected.

Since there are no viruses that run on iOS there are few virus apps and the one that are available in the app store are in my opinion an absolute waste of money. Given the sandboxed nature of iOS AVG, etc. would not work as they could only scan themselves.

Ok, thanks for the info. Whats weird is, that it originally occured on the safari browser, and I didnt know what to do so I downloaded Chrome.But after a couple of hours using it, the pop-ups popped up on Chrome as well. I guess I must be downloading it from a website I dont consider dangerous to visit then ...

Next time you see it disable wifi, enable cellular data with 3G/4G and reset your Safari. Reload the same page that caused it & see if it reappears.

It sounds to me like you have a connection that is injecting these popups. It could be the router or it could be the ISP (if you have a terrible ISP).

You should also double check that you are on the correct network - turn off the wifi router (assuming you have access to it) & see if it disappears from your device. If your iPhone remains connected it could be that a nearby router is spoofing your access point & injecting this junk.

If it looks like the router is at fault find your original configuration settings & use the manufacturers download to reflash the original firmware (or get a new router). Make sure you use strong passwords for the router admin pages & wifi network.

FYI, rebooting means to turn the phone off, then turn it on again. That's all.
