Q: If I want to delete a photo

When opening Photo, it shows Photos at top, then All Photos under albums.

Several questions: if I want to merge pictures as I scroll down in Photos mode is that possible? If I scroll down and want to move a picture to an album in iPhoto, I grab the picture and move it to the folder with no problem but the photo still remains in my Photo list. In the past, I have moved those and deleted. But when I do that with Photo, the photos are deleted from my album. Doesn't seem to be a cut and paste capability.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Don

No - in Photos the organization is automatic dn you can not change it

If I scroll down and want to move a picture to an album in iPhoto, I grab the picture and move it to the folder with no problem but the photo still remains in my Photo list.

Right - it works exactly like iPhoto and Aperture did - albums are logical things used to organize and are one way to view photos - Photos is another - All Photos is a another

You ave not "Moving" photos to a albums - you are adding them - Photos and all Photos show all photos in the library  - albums show the ones you have added to them

In the past, I have moved those and deleted.

No - in all Apple Photo products since at least iphoto '08 (and I believe before that) deleting a photos from an event or from Photos view deleted it from the library and therefore from every place

Thanks...I was in All Photos, created a new album moving 12 pics  at the end of my list. They showed up in the new album and I wanted to remove those from the end of the list, since I created a new album for them and they were still at the end. I deleted them and they disappeared from the newly created album. I used to do this.

question - on Photo, do all pics that are taken stay on the main screen and can they be removed like before?

    again

You ave not "Moving" photos to a albums - you are adding them - Photos and all Photos show all photos in the library  - albums show the ones you have added to them

and I have no idea what you were doing but in iPhoto if you delete a photo from an event it is gone everywhere just exactly like in Photos when you delete form Photos o All Photos - albums work no differently in Photos than they did in iPhoto

and this makes no sense at all

question - on Photo, do all pics that are taken stay on the main screen and can they be removed like before?

What are you calling "the main screen"  - there is no element with that name in any Apple photo product

If you are talking about Photos and All Photos as stated above they show all photos in the library and anything deleted from either is deleted everywhere

    Thanks.

in the past, had iPhoto Events and I created albums. My main screen was the Event page with my events.Should I make the albums in the iPhoto Event page in Photo to new albums in Photo?

I have an iPhoto Events page with all the events changed to albums in Photo. In addition, have all of the albums (which happen to be the same albums already created in iPhoto Events). In iPhoto, I created the same albums as events. Now in Photo, in iPhoto Events it shows all the events changed to albums and under that are all the identical albums I created - so this looks like duplicates?

    Thanks

My Photo app doesn't look like a video that I watched.

It had a great look and had across the top Photos    Shared    Albums    Projects    Import     across the top. HOW DO I GET MY PHOTO APP TO LOOK LIKE THAT WHICH IS WHAT BEEN LOOKING  an organized Photo app. Mine shows Photos iTunes events etc down the left side and looks bad and is unorganized.

    Thanks,

    Don

    Thanks that helps.

Should I move the iPhoto Events albums to new Photo albums? Those albums are in iPhoto albums and shown and the identical albums duplicated under iPhoto albums - are these duplicates?

    Thanks,

    Don

there no "should" - if you want to do and if yo do not want to do not - it is simply a personal choice

Those albums are in iPhoto albums and shown and the identical albums duplicated under iPhoto albums - are these duplicates?

Again this is personal and no one but you know - strange that you state that "the identical albums [are] duplicated" then ask us if they are duplicates - only you know

and again albums work exactly like in iPhoto - delete a photo form an album does just that and have no effect anywhere else (in Photos unlike iPhoto there is also a delete photos command while in an album and that deleted the photos everywhere)
