Ok, here's the whole story. Last month I spilled orange juice on my MacBook Pro with Retina 2012. I brought it to have it fixed at a computer fix-it shop in town as I live nowhere near an Apple store. The OJ ruined the hard rive and the motherboard and they replaced both of them. Now the Time Machine is recognizing the Macbook as a new Macbook. While I was waiting to have my MacBook fixed I bought a used 2008 iMac and it also has backups on my TM. Now I only have 31.5 GB of 2 TB of space left which isn't enough room to back up my MBP. Ive tried to delete the old MBP backup but it won't let me.

The repair seems to have been done incorrectly. Does the serial number of the old (before damage) and new(with new LB) match?

What is the error you get when you try to delete?
