Q: I am unable to get messages sent to my i5 phone number on my iPad
I have an I 5 phone. I can't seem to be able to retrieve messages sent to my phone number on my iPad.
I also cannot get texts sent to my email address on my i5 phone from my iPad
I am using IOS 8.3 on both products
any thoughts?

I understand that you are using iMessage on both your iPhone and iPad but are having trouble receiving messages from your phone number on one and from your email address on the other.
