Do you have a company exchange account set up on that device? That's usually how that happens. Your exchange administrator pushes put a security profile that changes or limits certain features based on your company's security policies. They can alter the limits on auto lock, force a password, disable simple password, etc. The only way to remove the restrictions is to delete the account and the profile that came with it.

Yes, but you can setup and use a company exchange email account even on a personal device. If you have a work email account set up, even on a personal device, the people administering the company email system can change settings on your device simply by the fact that you setup and logged into their email system.


if you don't have an account set up then something is wrong as there is no way to restrict the auto lock setting other than a group security policy in place. You can try simply resetting the iPad - press and hold both the power button and the home button until the Apple boot logo appears,
