how do I send and receive texts in a group chat with phones that ARE NOT iPhones

I know how to send out a group text message but when I do, it's labelled outgoing. When I receive messages from the numbers in this group chat they appear in individual conversations with each contact. Not all the phones in the group are iPhones and there are 8 people in the group. As well, the only person who can see all the messages is me, the sender. Is there a way to STAY in the group created for the chat when receiving messages??
