Q: Can you use 2 macbooks to have dual screens?

I got a new Macbook Pro last fall for school to replace my 2008 Macbook unibody. I need to have dual screens for a new job but I was wondering if I could just use my old macbook as a second screen.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014)

No. MBPs will not work, but iMacs can within these constraints:
