Jun 17, 2015 7:13 AM in response to meganlmgby mende1,Welcome to Apple Support Communities
With OS X 10.10.3, Apple removed iPhoto from the Mac App Store and replaced it with Photos, a brand-new app bundled with OS X. See -> Get started with Photos for OS X - Apple Support
If you were running iPhoto '09 or newer on your old Mac, it is as simple as opening the Photos app (you can find it in the Dock) and following the steps. If you were using an older iPhoto version, the link above includes a download link to the iPhoto Library Upgrader, which you will have to run first.

You can do it in your new Mac if you want to. There is no need to use your old Mac in order to get your photos.
