I unpaired my apple watch in an attempt to fix a device app. Now I cannot get it to pair. I tried restarting to no avail. Any suggestions

Did you restart both the watch and the iPhone?

Same thing happened to me when the Weather App would not connect.

I un-paired.

In order to re-pair you must reset the watch which dumps all the info.

All that info is stored on your phone, so when you re-pair it all comes back.

Resetting the watch does NOT dump any information. Unpairing it does.

I've found that when I've "unpaired" my watch, I had to go into bluetooth settings (on my phone) & re-select the watch when it shows up under the "my devices" heading. Something that's SO obvious but (twice) overlooked.

Actually according to the support articles they should both do the same thing. The instructions are to unpair the watch through the phone app if your phone is available and to use the erase all content and settings if the phone is not available.
