Oct 14, 2015 12:01 PM in response to Tybauby flowerfromkenmore,★HelpfulThanks! This worked for me as well. Make sure you immediately go to applications after you have followed the force quit instructions. I was able to delete it after following the instructions twice. I think I clicked elsewhere the first time.

Oct 22, 2015 8:29 PM in response to Mike Sombrioby MMWV58,"Open Activity Monitor, find the MegABackup provess and kill it there." Thanks, Mike. This was really super frustrating to have this uninvited, unwanted crap on my Macbook. I don't know how the heck it got there and I just could figure out how to remove it. Until I read your suggestion, I was not even aware of "Activity Monitor". Found it, did a force quit of the program and was then able to uninstall it.

Oct 23, 2015 6:28 AM in response to flowerfromkenmoreby DeniseCC75,I was finally able to remove MegaBackup from my Mac by following those instructions. It was so annoying constantly getting all those pop-up reminders to back up my unprotected files and also didn't know how it got on my computer. Thanks so much for everyone's help.

Oct 23, 2015 4:18 PM in response to Mike Sombrioby over7441,Everything worked for me up until this point. I opened activity monitor, and there were two "Megabackup" items - 1) Megabackup & 2) Megabackup Agent. I've quit and force quit'ed for both, the only one that seems to completely quit is Megabackup, megabackup agent refuses to quit or anything from Activity Monitor. Help!

Oct 30, 2015 3:26 PM in response to danielfromclarkstonby Oaktree35,★HelpfulFor everyone that's having issues with removing this app after a force quit has been done.
open finder and go to applications scroll down to MEGABACKUP app and right click it. select remove to trash. You will have to enter password and it will trash it.

This is what finally worked for me. One minor correction, "move to trash", not "remove to trash". Thank you, Oaktre35.
