Jul 10, 2016 12:51 PM in response to Barryby HaveMacWillTravel,That controls the border around the data field, which in my example charts are already turned off. It's the line outside the title, legend and axis labels that I want to turn off. I notice in your example that the outer border is not there even with Chart Options: Border selected.

Jul 10, 2016 7:40 PM in response to HaveMacWillTravelby SGIII,Were these charts created in Numbers or created in another app and imported into Numbers? I think I recall cases where charts created elsewhere retained some formatting after opening in Numbers that couldn't be changed. The solution was to create them again in Numbers.

Jul 10, 2016 8:25 PM in response to SGIIIby HaveMacWillTravel,They were created in Numbers, copied into Pages. It looks like the problem might be in Numbers. I tried re-creating the charts in Numbers from the data, but every new chart has the outer border. Can't see how to stop that.

Jul 11, 2016 6:50 AM in response to HaveMacWillTravelby SGIII,When you start a new Numbers document with the 'Charting Basics' template (File > New) do you see borders in charts there? (In my setup I don't.)

Sep 6, 2016 3:27 AM in response to JHuPiTerby T2YUKI,Hi,
I’ve heard that this will happen when you open Excel books with Numbers.app ver. 3. To remove the border, create a new document of Numbers.app and make the same type of the chart, then paste the chart into the canvas of the bordered chart, finally copy the style of the chart without a border and paste the style to the bordered chart.
