Q: Icloud backup failed

i am signed in icloud and verified email address

Iphone : 4s

software: ios 8.3

 

Backup: Only contacts

 

Signed in icloud account successfully on phone and that message still appears

iPhone 4S, iOS 8.3

    First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)


     

    If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.


     

    If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.


     

    Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

    Hi Winston, Many thanks for the reply.

     

    1) Wifi is connected successfully

    2) There was never no backup taken

    3) Backup was on, I turned it off - trying to re-enable it again but keep getting the error "Icloud backup failed, there was a problem enabling icloud backup

     

    I only did have Contacts to backup, I turned that off and still no use. so currently there are nothing been backed up, tried selecting only reminders and same issue.

     

    Any other suggestions would be great.

    Neither contacts or reminders are in the options to turn on and off for backup purposes, so I'm not sure where it is you are looking in settings.

    Settings --> Icloud -->

    There are many options like

    Mail, contacts,reminders,safari etc...

    There are also an option called "BACKUP" its currently off, I am unable to toggle the slider on due to the error.

    The options for mail, contacts, reminders etc on that page are nothing to do with backup.
