why does yahoo keep reloading?

Might be a cache, extensions, or third party plug-in issue.

Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy paste the following

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.

Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that didn't help, from the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.

Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Yahoo keeps reloading for me as well, but none of the fixes that Carolyn posted seem to be working. Is there anything else I can try? My system is a week old Mid 2015 Retina MacBook Pro if that helps.

The answer that solved my yahoo home page reloading in a continual loop was simple:

Clear the history and cookie data stored in Safari:

Open Safari

Go to and click to open the "Safari" menu in the upper left corner of your screen.

Scroll to and click on "Preferences." to open

Scroll to and click on the "Privacy" icon to open

Click on "remove all website data"

(If there are a few sites remaining after the others were deleted, just leave them alone as they be for your most frequently used.)

Close Preferences and Safari.

Reopen Safari and then reopen your Yahoo Home Page.

The reloading loop problem should have been solved. If not, go back over same directions and get rid of any remaining sites/cookies. Then close and reopen Safari again.
