Migration PREF issues DVD Player & Firefox

Did the Migration Assistant from another mac to this one running LEOPARD - some minor issues:

The DVD player app gives me a warning that "global something" is not saved - so it doesn't keep track of which DVD's I've put in there, where last play was, etc ... not a huge deal but it would be nice to get rid of the error msg - otherwise, DVD player app works fine.

Mozilla/Firefox gives me an error that there is another one running (not true). I've tried the obvious things - deinstalling firefox - copying over another one to write over it, etc, etc but firefox/mozilla won't launch as it insists that it's already running. Any suggestions? Thanks.
