When I switch my IPhone 6 back from silenced my text messages still just vibrate, no sound. What do I need to change in my settings?

If you go to Settings > Sounds, and tap on Text Tone, does it play the alert or just vibrate? Also, are you hearing the ringtone when people call you and just not when they text or is both not working?
